Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia Pennsylvania

June 25, 2012

While in Baltimore, we realized Philadelphia sat about 100 miles away. By pure chance, the Phillies played a home game, and so we hopped in our car and drove north on I-95. We honestly had no idea what we were doing, but we arrived in Philadelphia, stopped at a hotel to buy tickets to the game through Stubhub, and booked a last minute hotel near the airport. We rushed to the game and got there right around first pitch.

The smell of cheese steaks filed the air, and the Phillie Phanatic entertained the crowd as the Phillies battled the Pittsburgh Pirates. While Danny and Adrian walked around, my mom and I remained in our seats chatting with some passionate fans who gave us tips on what to do in the city and most importantly, where to eat cheese steaks. Jimmy Rollins homered, the Pirates made a plethora of errors, and the Phillies beat their in-state rivals. As we exited Citizens Bank Park, fireworks painted the night sky in the “City of Brotherly Love,” and our first crazy unplanned adventure proved to be a success.
