With the first College Football Playoff rankings out, teams now have a better idea of where they stand in the eyes of the Playoff committees. As the weeks go on, every game takes on even more meaning.
The #4 Clemson Tigers, already with a stunning loss to Syracuse, can’t afford to lose again if they want to make the Playoff. This week the Tigers travel to Raleigh to face #20 North Carolina State, and the Wolfpack have yet to lose a conference game and currently lead the ACC Atlantic Division. The Wolfpack can not only upend the Tigers’ Playoff hopes but also pretty much clinch a spot in the ACC conference championship. With a ton to play for, look for the Wolfpack to upset Clemson.
Another game to look out for is #6 Ohio State visiting un-ranked Iowa. Ohio State is coming off a huge victory over Penn State to cement themselves in the Playoff conversation, but a road game in Iowa City could result in a letdown for the Buckeyes after such a big win. The Buckeyes are 20.5 point favorites, but I expect a tough fight against the Hawkeyes.
GOOD CALL!
