On the way back home to San Antonio, we took a different route to not see the same things twice. This brought us to Atlanta, home of Danny’s favorite team, the Braves. Our first game at Turner Field was an early afternoon day game against the Nationals (yes them again), and I’m not lying when I tell you it was about 110 degrees. The heat brutally scorched down on us, but we managed to survive. Danny got interviewed on a radio station, we met a really nice usher named Hazel, and cold wet towels proved handy throughout the game.
With Alan and my dad joining us now, we headed back for a second Braves game. This time, we took a tour of Turner Field, Danny caught a home run, and Chipper Jones came in to play as we saw him in his last season ever. Cubs fans took over the stadium, and also the game, as they beat the Braves. This marked our fourth and final stadium on this trip, and I loved every second of every stadium. I wanted and needed to see more, so this trip sparked an interest that changed my family’s life forever.
