O’s Beat Tanaka

The Orioles today had a very impressive performance beating the Yankees when Tanaka pitches for the second time. The Yankees have lost 3 games when Tanaka pitches, and 2 of those are against Baltimore. Jonathan Schoop is apparently the Tanaka killer, as he has homered twice against him this year. The O’s showed a very patient approach today, and if they approach every pitcher like Tanaka, they might just run away with this division. You could tell the O’s specifically were patient against Tanaka because they knew he wants you to chase. They usually are free swingers, but they’re approach was really refreshing to see. The Orioles again picked up a game on New York and Toronto and now sit 1.5 games out of first. With 16 of their next 21 games at home, and their next 7 games against the last place Rays and White Sox, you might just see the O’s make their surge.
