Machado gone for the Year

     It appears that Orioles 3rd Baseman Manny Machado will have season ending surgery on his knee. Machado went on the DL a week ago, and was diagnosed with a knee ligament sprain. The Orioles never further explained the injury though. Now it is being reported that his season is done.

     This is a huge loss for the Orioles, who will add another to the list of injuries. They have played without Matt Weiters all year, and Machado has been absent much of the season. He had just started to heat up, and his injury is a sad one.

     Chris Davis and Ryan Flaherty will most likely replace Machado at 3rd, while Steve Pearce will handle 1st. The O’s are 26-18 without Manny this year, so hopefully they can stay strong without him and still go deep into the postseason.
