As Fans, We’re Getting Spoiled At These Olympics

The 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro are going to be remembered forever. Not for Zika, and not for political unrest, but for the dominant athletes making history.

At these Olympics, we’re getting to see arguably the best swimmer, gymnast, and runner of all-time in Michael Phelps, Simone Biles, and Usain Bolt. Also, Katie Ledecky asserted herself as possibly the most dominant swimmer ever. They are certainly not disappointing with their performances.

Phelps won six more medals, including five gold medals, and Biles dominated at the gym, winning four gold medals and one bronze after a stunning stumble on the balance beam. Bolt has flown by the competition, winning two golds easily with one race to go, and Ledecky swam for four golds, along with one silver in a relay.

Both Phelps and Bolt have said these are their last Olympics.  It’s yet to be seen if these are truly the last we see of  two greats, but make sure you enjoy their greatness now. Bolt has one race remaining, Friday night in the 4×100-meter relay, where he looks to win his ninth gold medal. Don’t blink, because you may never see him run again.
