Another WILD Night in Baltimore

Unfortunately, the power went out in my house tonight, and although it came back, the internet did not, therefore MLB TV was not available and I could watch this game. I do though, what happened by very infrequently getting updates on my phone. Towards the end, I was able to watch it on MLB tonight. Boy am I glad I was.
After 7 innings of very poor offense, and another less than stellar performance by Ubaldo Jimenez, the Orioles woke up in the 8th. After Nick Hundley and Nick Markakis reached on base to start the inning, a rally looked to end when Steve Pearce and Adam Jones were retired to get to two outs. After a Chris Davis walk, Nelson Cruz came to the plate. Nelson let the ball “CRUZ” out of the ballpark. His game tying grand slam let Oriole Park go nuts with two outs in the 8th. After a quick 9th, the sight that no one wanted to see, was seen. The grounds crew came rushing out with the tarp, and covered the field before a massive storm came over Birdland. The game would have to wait.
In the top of the 12th, Adam Eaton led off the inning with a double, and looked to have a rally going. Brian Matusz though, got 2 quick outs, before turning it over to Tommy Hunter, who got a big strikeout of veteran Paul Konerko. Then came the O’s.
Nick Hundley of all people, starts the inning with a walk, and is replaced by David Lough, the designated runner. Nick Markakis followed the walk with a gapper that looked like it may win the game, if it weren’t for David Lough slipping on his way home. The O’s caught a huge break as when Lough was on the ground, third base coach Bobby Dickerson looked to touch him. If the umpire catches this, he is out and there’s only a runner on 1st with one out. Instead, runners were on the corners with no one on. On the very next pitch to Steve Pearce, the White Sox pitcher threw a wild pitch past the catcher and David Lough came storming home to give the O’s the series win, another walk off win, and more importantly, 1.5 games out of first.
